Cllr Karol McQuade

Karol is Mid Ulster Councillor for Dungannon DEA.  He is a father of three from “The Moy” and is  heavily involved in his local GAA club. He is a Sport Coaching and Recreation graduate. He currently works full time with Primary Schools across Mid Ulster and further afield to improve the quality of Physical Education for young children.  He is involved in a lot of cross community and outreach work especially with the Shared Education programme, an initiative which brings both sides of our community together through PE, sport and curriculum activities.

He is heavily involved in his community and well known for always being willing to help anyone.

Karol is a member of the current 3 in a row winning All Ireland Tyrone Masters team as well as playing for the Tyrone Masters basketball team.  He helps coach underage teams at Moy GAC and also assists with the local hurling club, Duiche Neill, in Benburb.

His main aim as a councillor is to bring better outdoor facilities for sport and recreation particularly in Moy- playing fields, play parks and areas where people can improve their mental health outdoors.  He has also promised to help improve the current Mid Ulster Swimming academy and booking system to make it easier for parents.

He currently sits on the Development and Audit Committee with Mid Ulster District Council as well as the COSTA (Community Organisations of South Tyrone & Areas) Committee.
